About Ronna Buckin
Ronna Buckun is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with young adults, aging adults, and their families. Her approach to therapy balances her genuineness, humor, and compassion with the focus on problem-solving and client growth. She possesses a direct, yet comforting style.
Ronna views therapy as a collaborative effort, a partnership. “Our lives can be filled with challenges and hurt. We never know what life may throw at us and it’s easy to get stuck. My devotion is to help my clients cope with and adjust to the adversities that can occur in life.” As a therapist, Ronna provides an empathetic, motivational, and trusting environment to help guide clients through their journey of awareness and healing.
Ronna specializes in geriatric well-being, relational and family issues. She has expertise in chronic illness as well as people struggling with depression, anxiety, stress/caregiver stress, and life transitions. She has a great deal of experience working with grief and loss, aging issues, adjustment disorders, and health and wellness. Her methods of practice include Cognitive Behavioral, Relaxation/Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Ronna received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois and holds a B.A. in Psychology. She has clinical expertise working in a hospital system, hospice, and private practice.
