Raven has experience in the following areas:
Raven believes that mental health is one of the most prominent issues facing us today and clients deserve a space where they can be unapologetically seen. Raven takes on a collaborative approach in helping clients identify goals and possible solutions to issues which may cause emotional disturbance. Her goal as a counselor is to be genuinely engaged in the therapeutic relationship, have an unconditional positive regard for the client, and ensure the client feels heard and understood. Raven’s motive is to help clients discover meaningful solutions to complex problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, crisis, and multicultural issues. She believes addressing one’s social factors in health, while working compassionately alongside the client will prepare her to address the inequities of mental health in children, adolescents, adults, and even families.
Raven apprehends that understanding the client’s worldview will help develop and maintain a healthy therapeutic relationship. She integrates a variety of counseling approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Based Therapy (SFBT), Play Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as each theory focuses on the dimensions of growth to develop a greater sense of confidence in one’s self and promote behavioral change.
Raven received her Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Family and Individual Development and her Master of Arts at Lewis University with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling specializing in Children and Adolescents.
