About Lauren Buckley

Lauren believes that counseling should serve as a safe, non-judgmental, and comforting space for clients to express their authentic selves. Lauren primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Reality Therapy methods, as well as humanistic approaches, within her work to support clients and their individual needs. Lauren believes that each person’s experience is unique and valuable, so she prioritizes adapting her methods in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way to meet each individual’s goals.

Lauren has multiple years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. She has a passion for helping children optimize their potential, fulfill their passions, and strengthen their self-esteem. Lauren’s clinical interests also include anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and more. Additionally, Lauren enjoys integrating her interest of art into sessions to help support individuals in expanding their self-expression and creativity in an alternative way.

Lauren’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science from Northern Illinois University in 2018 and a Master’s of Arts degree from Lewis University in December 2023. While in graduate school, Lauren also completed an internship at a private practice, primarily working with children and adolescents presenting with anxiety, depression, Gender Dysphoria, ASD, ADHD, and more. She also has experience with working with young adults.

Outside of sessions, Lauren enjoys drawing, traveling, and trying new foods. Her favorite vacation spot was in Ireland, where she had an opportunity to meet a wide variety of individuals, explore the culture, and observe the beautiful scenery within the country. Lauren hopes to continue to travel and gain new experiences along the way!
