Brittany believes that an extremely powerful shift happens when we choose to open up and explore the multiple facets that make us who we are and that by looking into counseling, you have already begun that process. Working together with her clients, Brittany uses humanistic approaches and tailors her strategies and interventions based on trust, readiness and specific needs. She deeply believes that potential and power lies within each individual and that by slowing down and becoming curious about the patterns of our thoughts, behaviors and relationships, we can not only overcome the struggles we face, but live more authentic, balanced and joyful lives.
Brittany completed her Bachelor's in News-Editorial Journalism at the University of Illinois in 2012 and after finding meaning and building identity over a decade of work in video gaming, animal science, education and finally, mental healthcare, she completed her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lewis University in 2023. She specialized in working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault during her internship and gained experience working with trauma and grief through a lens of empowerment, social justice, growth and intersectional feminism. Brittany developed professional interest and passion for working with teenagers, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and alternative individuals and completed multiple research studies on Transgender issues during her graduate career.
Brittany practices with a diverse range of clients in regards to age, gender, cultural and spiritual backgrounds. She possesses an open and accepting approach to seeing couples and continues to hone a progressive approach toward the wellness of her clients. Brittany frequently uses approaches from Existentialism, Reality Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and seamlessly blends them in an integrated approach. She is committed to continuing her education to provide the best possible therapy to her clients and become the best therapist she can be. She believes that small changes can lead to enormous, life-altering adjustments and simply making an appointment can create the motivation to change, grow and redefine your life.
