Dr. Laura Bokar is the President and CEO of the Fox Valley Institute and has been an individual, marital and family therapist for over two decades. Fox Valley Institute (FVI) was started in 2001 with one therapist (Dr. Laura). Since then FVI has grown to a team of over 20 therapists and psychologists, and continues to seek new professionals to expand their services. Dr. Laura was featured in a special segment for ABC7 News Chicago entitled Hope and Help for Veterans. Dr. Laura spoke on the healing effects that veterans can experience by engaging in Rapid Resolution Therapy. Dr. Laura has been a guest on talk radio shows, a speaker for many organizations on various topics, and authored magazines and published journal articles; she is currently in the process of writing a book. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, Illinois Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, American Association of Christian Counselors, American Counseling Association, Illinois Counseling Association, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association. Dr. Laura received her Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, and holds a Master’s Degree in Human and Child Development with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Professional Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is certified in Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), a safe, gentle, and effective approach to dealing with trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
