Katherine Stevens, LCPC

Kate is a skilled clinician who focuses her work on children, adolescents and young adults. She has worked with clients in a variety of settings, including a community mental health center, private practice, and an emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Kate has a strong passion for the intersection of mental health and community advocacy.

Throughout her career, Kate has supported children, teens and their families through a wide variety of life’s challenges. Kate specializes in anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and LGBTQIA with a focus on gender identity and sexual orientation. Kate believes in order for healing to transition outside of the walls of the therapy office, family members and other integrative members of the client’s family should have an active role in treatment and as such will provide support to the whole family unit alongside the client. Kate views therapy from the lens that each client is unique. She uses an integrative approach to techniques and tools given to clients, focusing on using a client’s interests to help engage and create interactive experiences in growth. Her warm, empathic and humorous approach to the healing process helps each client feel like they are walking the path towards success with a guide who can be there each step of the way.  Kate works side by side with her clients to create achievable, positive goals to ensure that counseling is a space where clients are able to see a future full of hope for better days to come.

Kate received an undergraduate degree from North Central College in Naperville, IL and went on to obtain a Masters in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
