Karen Southwick, MSW, LCSW
Karen has over fifteen years experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Karen’s initial experience in the mental health field included working in adolescent group homes and specialized foster care. She also worked in a high school in Chicago as a consultant for several years where she facilitated groups and worked with students on an individual basis. While her initial training and work was with children, adolescents, and families, for the past several years Karen has had extensive work with adults and couples. She has worked with numerous individuals who have previously struggled with making a positive connection with their therapist.
Karen has received extensive training in attachment, crisis intervention, and trauma. She has been trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy, and also received training at Loyola University’s Sex Clinic. This program had focused on education as well as opening the lines of communication within each couple.
