Jennifer Buhot, LCPC, RPT
Jennifer specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She is warm and welcoming, while approaching her clients in a patient, empathic, and direct method.
Jennifer’s experience ranges from providing therapy to at-risk youth and families, working with children on the Autism Spectrum, and children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral concerns. She spent much of her career working in a therapeutic day school providing therapy to children with IEPs and working with their families. Jennifer’s innovative therapy style utilizes Cognitive Behavioral therapies with play therapy, while providing behavioral strategies for parents.
Additionally, Jennifer has received training and has experience working in Early Intervention programs. Working with the family, she provided play-based therapy to young children and parent coaching/psychoeducation to families. Jennifer also has substantial experience working with individuals who are dealing with eating disorders, body image issues, and self-injury. In addition to providing therapy, she works with National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) as a resource support to those in recovery from eating disorders.
Jennifer Buhot is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, as well as a Registered Play Therapist. In addition, Jennifer has also earned credits toward a certificate in Infant Mental Health from Erikson Institute. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Elmhurst College and her Graduate Degree from Roosevelt University.
